Clinical focus

Dr. Arıcan evaluates and provides medical oncology care for adults with a broad range of solid tumors. His areas of expertise include lung and thoracic cancers, kidney cancer, head and neck cancers, and colorectal cancer, including colon cancer and rectal cancer.

He also sees patients with breast cancer, bladder cancer, stomach cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer and testicular cancer. Treatment planning in medical oncology depends on the type and stage of the tumor, previous treatments and the patient’s general health, and is discussed with each patient after a full review.

How Dr. Arıcan works with international patients

Dr. Arıcan consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their case before traveling.
